About
MotorAlmanac reads the U.S. federal vehicle record and says what it adds up to, one model year at a time.
The pilot covers 397 model years across 69 Ford and Toyota models, 1996-2026. Data as of 2026-10-28. Coverage grows only when the pages behind it hold up.
What this site will not do
- Publish a page for a model year the data cannot support. A year without enough evidence is listed on its model page instead.
- Compare one model against another on complaint counts. Counts follow sales, not reliability.
- Present a service bulletin as a defect finding, or an owner complaint as a verified fact.
Who writes it
A. Evirgen edits MotorAlmanac and writes its guides from NHTSA public recall, complaint and investigation records, which the site counts and cross-checks for every model year it covers.

The rules behind every page are written down on the methodology page, including what the site does not measure.
Corrections
If a page misreads the record, write to us. A figure that comes from one of the site's rules is corrected in the rule, so every page built from it is put right; an article is corrected in the article.
