Reporting an error

Tell us the page, the sentence and what the record actually says. Every figure on a page comes from a named federal file, so an error can be traced and fixed at its source.

What we cannot help with

• Whether a specific car has an open recall — that depends on its VIN; check it at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
• Filing a complaint. That is done with NHTSA directly.
• Repair advice or valuations. This site reads records; it does not inspect cars.
